Amazing spa day! Great treatment and lovely lunch x

My daughter and I enjoyed our spa day very much. The treatments we chose were lovely. We were given a voucher for lunch. We were directed through the hotel to have our lunch in the hotel dining area. On arrival we were told that drinks were not included with the lunch voucher and would have to pay for these. I had left my purse in the locker in the spa. We were offered water which we accepted but it was warm and didn’t taste very nice. With this we were a little disappointed and would have thought that lunch would come with a drink included.

Myself and my mum visited Forest Pines for my birthday. We were not told anything about the gym being available to us until we arrived sans gym clothes. Most spas offer robe and slippers as part of the package however, this was an extra at £7. The pool and sauna/steam room were adequate but there was not enough seating. Despite signs saying not to ‘claim’ chairs/loungers with your towel, everybody did this and there was no member of staff policing this. With only two hot beds, we had to wait for 30 minutes to use them because people were using them as loungers. Again, we had to wait what felt like an age to use the jacuzzi because of the amount of children sat in it. For what we got in terms of value for money, we could have gone to a standard leisure centre.

The treatments were lovely staff very professional. The downside was the food. We were told that we could keep on our gowns for lunch not possible as we had a long walk as they had moved the lunch to another restaurant. A outside walk then through an events centre along corridors of hotel rooms and eventually through the bar. We expected a light lunch and drink as per our last booking to be told a three course lunch not good before a massage. The food was not very appetising a salad bar with only lettuce, tomatoes and coleslaw nothing to go with it. Hot stodgy food and no puddings left except sticky cake. We assume this fare was offered as they had a conference party of 35 which we were seated alongside. (Not good for dressing gowns wearers). Only water to drink unless you bought a coffee. We were not the only people to complain about the food this day. We have complained to the Venue and we have been invited for a day with use of facilities and a light lunch in compensation for our spoilt Christmas present.
