Lovely but was massively spoilt by guests making noise from 12-5 am and nothing was done about it we are still awaiting a refund from the General manager
The Vital spa was good. I met Charlie, I think that was his name, and he was great. Showed me around everywhere, explained what I could do and use. The aromatherapy room was closed which was a shame but I did an Aquaerobics class - brilliant - and used all the other bathing facilities. Charlie took me over to lunch and this is where it fell down. Absolutely no-one could be found to show me to my table so Charlie had to do it, which I didn't mind. My afternoon tea arrived and was excellent and a gentleman brought me my tea to drink. Then I didn't see another soul for nearly an hour! No prosecco offered and I left to go for my treatments. I saw the receptionist to say goodbye to on my way out. Glad to get back to the spa really. Probably because it was November and quiet so not many staff needed in the hotel. Finished my treatments about 4pm and went for a further swim and hot tub pummel then left about 5pm. I did enjoy the day overall and would return.
All the staff at the The Macdonald Kilhey Court & Spa were incredibly friendly and attentive. The package for a Sunday night stay was great value and we were looked after and welcomed throughout our stay, at reception, in the spa, in the restaurant and in the bar. The treatment rooms were peaceful, calming and well-decorated, the treatment used lovely scented Elemis products and the massage therapist was professional and considerate. I would certainly recommend the package, hotel and the spa facilities and would visit again. The only slight negative was that aromatherapy room was out of order, and the swimming pool was quite small but this did not detract from my stay.
Fantastic break for my wife and I. Hotel was lovely, spacious and oozed history.
We had a suite in the newer section which was great. Spa was good but unfortunately 2 of the sauna rooms were broken. Treatments were great.

My daughter and I had a lovely day at the spa followed by Afternoon Tea in the Laureate Restaurant. Everything was perfect, from the staff in the spa reception who really looked after to us, to the lovely facilities and treatments. The afternoon tea was delicious and served up in wonderful surroundings. Booking with Treatwell was easy and trouble free. I would definitely love to do this again.
